A man caught speeding while taking his wife to a Covid clinic has been fined €200.
Michael O’Donnell, 46, appeared at Letterkenny District Court.
Garda Sergeant Gerard Dalton told the court that O’Donnell was stopped doing 126kph in a 100kph zone at Dromore on October 31st, 2021.
A fixed penalty notice was issued to O’Donnell at his address at Limewood Street in Derry but was never paid.
O’Donnell represented himself in court.
He told the court “I took my eye off the ball. I was taking my wife to a Covid clinic and I apologise.”
Judge Cunningham fined the accused €200 and gave him five months to pay.
