A young man has been jailed for four months after he admitted stealing a phone and two sets of headphones from Tesco in Letterkenny.
Augustine Muntean appeared by videolink at Letterkenny District Court this week charged with the theft of the items valued at €200.
The court was told the 20-year-old is currently serving a three year jail sentence.
Muntean, with an address at Willowgreen Park, Athlone in Co Westmeath made full admissions when apprehended by security staff at Tesco.
Judge Eiteain Cunninggham told solicitor Gordon Curley that a probation report on the accused was “not very positive.”
She jailed Muntean for four months.
